But there are many human foods that are not safe for your dog to consume and can even be dangerous to their health, some of which you might be surprised about.
Onions and Garlic
Onions and garlic, in all forms, can kill your dog’s red blood cells, making her anemic.
This sweetener is in found in chewing gum, candy, baked goods and toothpaste, to name a few. It can cause your dog’s blood sugar level to drop and has been known to cause liver failure.
This creamy green fruit contains something called Persin, which can be poisonous to dogs.
Grapes and Raisins
This fruit and it’s dried version can cause kidney failure in dogs even in small doses.
Milk and other dairy-based products can not be properly digested by your pup and can cause diarrhea and other digestive problems. It can also trigger allergies of the skin, making your pup very itchy.
Just a small handful of these nuts can make your dog really sick, in both raw and roasted form. Any products containing them should also be avoided.
All types of chocolate contain theobromine, even white chocolate, which can cause vomiting, seizures, heart problems and even death.
Alcoholic beverages have the same effect on your dog as on humans but much quicker. This can lead to liver toxicity and failure as well as heart problems.
